ABSTRACT:
It is increasing by the year, and the amount of waste being pumped into the environment is also a ton. A lot of that refuse is simply burnt or thrown away with little or no intention as to the purported purpose of that garbage which is naturally produced heat when it decays or burns. We attempted to harness that wastage heat in this project and use it to generate a little of usable electric power. This configuration consists of a temperature sensor and a capacitor-resistor network combined with a heat-collection panel placed close to the waste source. The waste also becomes hot when it is heated, and the system gathers the heat and transforms it into electrical energy. In the course of experiments, the amount of power generated was sufficient to power up an LED, which demonstrated that the idea of waste-to-energy is practical and simple. Although the power generated is small, the concept proves that daily garbage can provide a supplementary source of power, particularly in areas where the power supply is low or expensive. It is also an effective way of reducing environmental pollution through the better use of waste. We might also go to an even more efficient system in the future by using more sophisticated heat-capture material and scaling the system to higher-power usage.
