ABSTRACT:
Water pollution has become a major global issue in recent times. The presence of heavy metals in water poses serious detrimental effects on both the environment and human health. Therefore, it is essential to remove heavy metals for the safe utilization of water. Several treatment methods, such as adsorption, membrane filtration, ion exchange, and coagulation, are commonly employed for the removal of heavy metals. Adsorption is considered more efficient, eco-friendly, and economical, especially when bio-adsorbents are used. In the present study, two bio-adsorbents, Marua plant and Albizia lebbeck, were used to carry out a comparative analysis. The study focuses on the removal of Fe²⁺ ions from aqueous solution and the effect of the initial concentration of Fe2+ ions on the adsorption efficiency.
